What to Expect
Not much beats the experience of flipping through a photobook. In this two-part workshop, participants will work with artist and educator Chris Bowes to create a series of engaging photographs and bind them into a handmade photobook.
Session one (Thursday 21 September): Chris will teach participants about the technical and creative elements of photography, including composition and lighting. He’ll also explain how to capture a series of images that respond to a theme.
Session two (Thursday 28 September): Learn how to sequence the series of photographs you made during the first session so they tell a story. Participants will then bind them together into a one-of-a-kind photobook.
This workshop is suitable for beginners and materials are provided. Please ensure your child is able to attend both sessions.
What to Bring
A smartphone with the free Adobe Lightroom Mobile app installed OR A digital camera (any is fine)
A snack and water bottle
Sun protection (for the first session—students will be walking around the exterior of The Mining Exchange)
