Photo Studio Hire
in Docklands, Melbourne

Our Docklands location is easy to get to from any side of Melbourne, with heaps of parking and public transport options and places to unload gear.

We have two studio’s available to hire, with a shared ‘green room’, which includes a change area, hair and make-up station, lounges, kitchen and toilets.

Studio hire includes a variety of useful equipment:

  • black, white or grey paper backdrops*

  • light stands

  • c-stands (with booms)

  • tether trolleys

  • polyboards

  • shot bags

  • backdrop support stand

  • 2.4m scrim (Studio A only)

  • Product table (Studio B only)

*Backdrops are included in hire if they aren’t stood on. For full body shoots, we replace the paper to keep it fresh, and a replenishment fee of $60 is charged for each backdrop.

We also have a lighting kit available for hire at an extra $20/hour, which includes:

  • 3 x Godox AD600Pro’s with batteries and triggers

  • 2 x Godox wallpacks

  • 120cm octobox with grid

  • 90cm octobox with grid

  • 2 x 140x30cm stripboxes with grids

  • 53cm beauty dish

  • Background reflector

  • Coloured gels

Studio A.

Studio A features concrete floors and amazing natural light. The space is perfect or large scale shoots, including fashion, editorial and portraiture.

This studio features wooden floorboards and is better for controlling ambient light. The space is perfect for headshots and still life.

Our Space.

Kindred Cameras is a multi-use creative space, including studios, a gallery and co-working space. Non-members have access to their hired studio, as well as the ‘green room’, which includes a shared lounge and change room. If you are interested in our other facilities, consider becoming a member!

How to get here.

The studio is located in an easy to reach location on the corner of The District Docklands shopping precinct. There are several 15 minute parks, perfect for dropping off gear, as well as a range of on and off street parking. If you are catching public transport, the number 86, 70 and 35 trams all stop just outside our door.
