WHAT’S ON
Funky Photobooths
We’re turning one year old - so we’ve decided to celebrate our youth ;)
Find your inner old-skool cool in our 90’s themed photobooths and capture the most eye-catching selfie of the weekend.
But you don’t just need to rely on your phone - we’re partnering up with Sony and Nanlite - and they’ll be bringing heaps of gear to touch and try on the day.
DIY Cyanotypes
Get your hands dirty and experience one of the oldest photographic processes - the cyanotype.
Channelling the vibe of Anna Atkins, we’ll use some local plant life from Ron Barassi park to create images that are truly one of a kind!
Camera care station
If there is one thing michaels camera hire is passionate about, it’s taking care of their camera equipment.
Bring your gear along on the day to get tips on how to keep it in shape - and if things are really dire - book in a sensor cleaning session.
Photography Exhibition
See some of the amazing work our members are making, both within the studio and on location.
From celebrity portraiture to still life, there’s bound to be something that will tickle your fancy - and you might even recognise a person or two.
Win PRIZES!
Upload your photobooth or cyanotype image and tag us on social media to go into the running to win one of our lucky draw prizes. There’ll be workshop vouchers, studio hire and even some quirky 35mm cameras up for grabs.
See the space
One year on, our space finally feels complete - and we’d love to show you around!
Come along and check out our facilities, from our popular studios to our NEW darkroom and project space.
Our Space.
Kindred Cameras is a multi-use creative space, including studios, a gallery and co-working space. Non-members have access to their hired studio, as well as the ‘green room’, which includes the lounge and change room. If you are interested in our other facilities, consider becoming a member!
How to get here.
The studio is located in an easy to reach location on the corner of The District Docklands shopping precinct. There are several 15 minute parks, perfect for dropping off gear, as well as a range of on and off street parking. If you are catching public transport, the number 86, 70 and 35 trams all stop just outside our door.
